We were very pleased to support the Why Moorlands Matter project for 2023, together we produced a photography book that captured many species that live and depend on managed moorland.
The WMM project held three events this year hosting over 30 people. These individuals are all involved, interested or linked with wildlife and conservation. Some are for managed moorland and some are against and the real aim of the event is to get people talking. Each group has a 24 hour slot in which they will go on wildlife safaris to see the moorland species, sit down to have certain discussions around the table and hear from some individuals who grew up and work on the uplands.
These events have proven to be very effective at getting people to discuss some really important topics concerning our uplands and brought groups together who would usually be opposed.
